Air heaters – solutions for the industrial sector

Heating processes for gases & air
Industrial process technologies often require electric air heaters, such as in air conditioning and process engineering or industrial furnace and drying plant construction. In addition to reduced emissions, electric heaters are characterized by their high thermal efficiency and low maintenance requirements. Depending on the existing or desired system design, they are designed as rectangular duct, tubular and flange air heaters or, in the case of increased system pressure, as classic tankless water heaters.
Process-specific engineering optimizes the design based on flow velocity and surface loading of tubular heaters while minimizing pressure drop.

  • Surface load
Since air has a distinctly low heat capacity, it is important to select the correct surface load, which depends directly from flow velocity. For air heaters, this should not exceed 5-6W/cm².
  • Temperature monitoring
During operation, the temperature of heaters and medium is monitored to prevent overheating in the event of a stall. Various temperature limiters and controllers, measuring sensors such as wind vane relays, as well as thyristor and contactor controls are available for this purpose. Upon request, we will design, build and deliver the appropriate control cabinet for your electric air heater. The measurement, regulation and control of your thermal processes are optimally adapted to your manufacturing process.
  • Material quality
Housings are made of stainless steel with a degree of protection up to IP69. Tubular heaters with diameters of 8.5mm, 10mm, 11.5mm or 16mm, standard in 1.4828 AISI 309, serve as the heat source. Depending on the corrosiveness and temperature of the medium, it is also possible to use alternative materials.
  • Pressure loss
For air heaters, the pressure drop through the heating elements should be kept as low as possible. Thanks to the clever arrangement of tubular heaters and flow plates, Siekerkotte finds the optimum compromise between heating capacity and pressure loss.
  • Further options
We deliver our heaters with fans, insulation, rollers and more for a mobile setup or as a skid solution at any time.
