Flexible etched foil heating elements
To supplement heaters with resistance winding
Flexible heating with polyamide and polyester insulation.
Available with higher power densities and extremely even heat dissipation.
The individual structural shapes have been designed for numerous application areas and requirements.
The equipment complies with low voltage directives and the EMC directive of the EU, therefore the CE mark was attached to the heating elements.

For manufacturing the heating elements a resistance alloy is etched into an integrated circuit using acid. This procedure ensures excellent reproducibility of the switch patterns and facilitates the generation of complex heat distribution patterns within the area to be heated.
Due to the large surface area covered by the foil web, etched foil elements can be operated at a very high watt density.
The flat foil webs also result in an excellent evenness and a fast heat transfer, which results in an extended life of the heaters even in high-performance applications.
Etched foil heat elements are available with the following insulation types:
Silicone rubber:
- Has excellent features regarding the electrical insulation and high temperature tolerance.
- The highest continuous operating temperature is 200°C.
Kapton®:
- Polyamide is a thin, light-weight, organic polymer film with an excellent tensile strength, high resistance to tearing and dimensional accuracy.
- Ideally suited for applications where low degassing, high resistance to radiation, chemicals and solvents are required.
- Operating temperature: -195°C to +200°C
Polyester:
- Cost-effective alternative to silicone rubber and Kapton®.
- Polyester is well suited for applications with low temperatures
up to 120°C.
